Life is Precious

I know this has been passed around the email circuit for a few years or more, but every time I see it, I am moved to helpless tears. Two things move my heart when I watch it - One is the tragedy of abortion. With modern medical technology, it is easier to tell in advance when a child may be born with disabilities such as these. In many cases, women are urged to end the life of the baby before its birth - all under "humane" pretenses - "the child won't have good quality of life", "the child will never know what its like to be normal".

How utterly heartbreaking to think of these excuses in the light of the fact that God puts value in ALL life - it is precious to Him! He is the creator and holder of life, and life is His gift to us. He knows every person, even before birth, and every life IS valuable! "For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb." (Psalm 139:13) Think of all the people who have been blessed by this life which was encouraged to be "put away".

The second thing that is so touching is the amazing love this father has for his son. And even more incredible is that it doesn't even shadow the love our heavenly Father has for us. Its a beautiful testimony, and leaves one wordless in awe.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:28-31
