A Song for Saturday

I've made it no secret that I'm a huge fan of Tenth Avenue North... this is one of their new songs, and it's just another one I can't resist!

Over the past few years, the Lord has taught me some hard, hard lessons about forgiveness - what it looks like from Him, and especially what it looks like from me toward others.  It has not been easy, and this has so often been my heart's cry!

Well, I had a post that I had spent quite a bit of time on, saved and ready to post today... however, thanks to Blogger having issues, not only was I not able to post that post, but it is no longer saved anywhere, either! Last week, we took the kids to see Paul Wilbur in concert. He is a Messianic Jewish singer, and his songs are full of worship and energy! It was a wonderful night with lots of dancing and rejoicing in the Lord. Here is one of the slow ones he played - it's one of our favorites! So beautiful, and such a reminder of His unfathomable love.

I love this song. Like, really, really love this song. I love the truth it tells, so beautifully! This song expresses everything I am grateful for, and the reason I am living today. What incredible, awesome freedom there is in the gospel... I don't think I can even express how changed my life - not just my life, but my heart - is because of Him. Jesus is everything to me.

Did you know that Kris Kristofferson isn't only an actor? He actually is a song writer, and singer, too! (Did you even know who Kris Kristofferson is? lol!) Michael and I love his music and his voice, and this song is especially beautiful. He wrote it, and it has been performed by Johnny Cash, Elvis,the Gaither Vocal Band, and probably others, but I think his original version is the best of all. It's very raw and real. The video isn't much, but listen anyway! Enjoy!

I came across this song and video at Divine Calling, and fell in love with it! Its like he's singing our song... after almost 12 years of marriage, Michael and I have definitely danced through our share of minefields - some self-imposed, some just a part of life. But through it all, God's promises have kept us together, and made us stronger than ever. I am so thankful for my marriage!

This song is an older song, but its one we've loved for... well, forever, it seems! Michael often sits and sings it and plays it on his guitar. Its so beautiful! It often brings me to tears.

I've heard this song get some flack because it's not specifically "Christian" (although it is meant to be a Christian song), but I love it. Enjoy your Saturday!

When I first heard this song, I thought it was a mixture between catchy and... cheesy. Just being honest! But, the more I heard it (and frankly, with 3 Christian radio stations in the area, I've heard it alot) the more I really started liking it. The catchy won out! Now its honestly one of my favorite songs :-)

But it also holds some meaning for me. See, I had struggled with severe bouts of depression in the past, from the time I was young, and even after becoming a Christian. But after listening to the lyrics of this song, it dawned on me that depression hasn't been something that I've been burdened with for years now, and for that, I can only give the praise and glory to God! He IS the lifeline - the Love, Hope, and Truth that we all so desperately need. His love is the only love that can change us.

So, even if you think its cheesy, I hope you enjoy it just a bit, too!

I've thought about putting this song up for a while - and then when I found this video going along with it, I just had to post it! I love the lyrics to this song, and I love the baptism pictures in the video! Baptisms are such special events - its so beautiful to welcome another brother or sister into the family of Christ!
