My Memories Review and a Giveaway!

(This Give Away is now CLOSED! Thanks to all who participated!)

Sometimes, I really surprise myself!  I don't consider myself the "creative" or "artistic" type, not by a long shot.  I'm also not especially gifted at technology - blogging is about as technologically creative as I get, and that's because it's pretty easy!  Because of these two things, I have never considered trying my hand at digital scrapbooking.  I've often admired the efforts of friends who do it so well, but that's as far as it went.

Keeping all these things in mind, you can imagine what I thought when I was given the opportunity to review My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbook Software! I figured I'm probably one of the best candidates to review it, considering my qualifications (or lack thereof)!

Well, I've been playing around with the whole digital scrapbook thing for a few weeks now, and let me tell you - I am sold!  I don't know a thing about other scrapbook software, but My Memories Suite has made my introduction into scrapbooking an absolute breeze!

Downloading the software went without a hitch.  When I first open the software, I am given the choice of either using a pre-made template of pages, or designing my own.  In a pre-made template, there are lots of choices included with the software, and more choices available at the My Memories website - many for free, which is good for my budget!  Then, I can choose which order I want the pages laid out in, and whether or not I want the pictures automatically filled in, or if I want to place them myself.  Then, I am prompted to select the photos I want to include, and... Tada!  A beautiful scrapbook!  Really.  It's that easy.  Crazy, huh?

These are two of the FREE! pre-made pages available on MyMemories.com
One of the nice things about the pre-made templates is that they can still be edited to add a more personal touch.  So they can be used as-is, or as a "starting point" to get creative juices flowing!

After giving the pre-made templates a try and seeing how simple it was, I decided to try my hand at creating my own.  That took a little more time, as I am an admitted perfectionist... but, it was still amazingly easy.  There are many so many papers, fonts, embellishments, and even features like video and audio to use and choose from!  Here's my very first attempt (inspired by a recent post):

You can see that at first I was a little afraid to get too creative!
Then, I got a little braver and played around with more embellishments:

I get so excited every time I finish a page!  I can't believe I can actually do this, and so easily, too!
It's hard to even go into detail about ALL of the neat features that are a part of My Memories Suite.  Photos can be cropped, shaped, sharpened, the color changed, red eye removed, and other editing, all within the software.  Embellishments are infinite, it seems - there are so many incredible options!  You can even add music, narration, links and other multi-media to a page or an entire book.  Who knew?!

There are also many tutorial videos on YouTube as well as the My Memories Blog... and they have loads of helpful information.  The more I learn, the more amazed and excited I am at what a neat tool My Memories Suite digital scrapbook software is!

I wanted to add a little something about my experience with My Memories Customer Service.  In my first try in downloading a kit I purchased from the website, I was able to download and install it correctly, but then... couldn't find it in my software!  (That's my technological ineptitude for you!)  The FAQs on the website were very helpful, but I still wasn't getting it, so I emailed Customer Service.  They replied in just a few hours, with very helpful and precise instructions, and I was easily able to find and use my downloaded page.  I always love a company with fast and efficient Customer Service!

Plain and simple, the software is easy to install, easy to use, and brings out the creative inspirations I've had hiding somewhere and never knew! Whether you're a digital scrapbook newbie, like me, or a seasoned pro, I definitely recommend My Memories Suite Scrapbook Software!

Here's the really fun part!  You can WIN your own My Memories Suite Scrapbook Software (a $39.97 value!).   There are several ways to enter - please leave a comment for each way you enter:
  • This one is required to enter! Visit MyMemories.com and take a peek at their cute kits, papers, and embellishments.  There are tons, so try not to get overwhelmed! Come back and share with me your favorite, and what you might use it for!

  • "Like" A Full Heart on Facebook for 1 extra entry

An Apron Giveaway!

I know I've said this before, but I love aprons!  I love how useful they are, not to mention how domestic they make me feel.  The kids love it when I put my apron on, because they know something fun (and usually messy!) is about to happen in the kitchen, and they run to get theirs!  The only problem I have with my apron is... I only have one!  How have I made it so many years with just one?!

Leah, a sweet young woman from my church is having a giveaway for a homemade apron to celebrate 2 years of blogging at The Narrow Path... this might be my big chance to double my apron supply!  Or... for you to win it for yourself, and enjoy the apron love!

Want a sneak peak?

I *heart* this apron!  I really love the colors and pattern - pretty and feminine without being impractical. I don't wear an apron as a fashion accessory, I actually use my apron.  Which means it gets dirty!  So whenever I daydream about getting another apron (and yes, I do daydream about that, and window shop, too!) I definitely bypass the lighter, easier to stain ones.  This apron fits the bill perfectly!

Drop by Leah's blog and leave a comment over there to congratulate her on two years of blogging, and to enter her giveaway!  It ends on the 23rd, so don't dally!

A Giveaway!

Well, I had a post that I had spent quite a bit of time on, saved and ready to post today... however, thanks to Blogger having issues, not only was I not able to post that post, but it is no longer saved anywhere, either! Sad day! So, to interrupt the regularly scheduled posting I had, I thought I'd go ahead with a giveaway!

I realized this week that my 4th Blogging Anniversary passed me by last month! 4 years of blogging, that's wild to think about! When I first started blogging, I had 4 children and my oldest was 6! Now I have 6 children and my oldest is 10 (yes, my math skills are superb!) My! How time flies!!

What's the giveaway you ask? Well, a while back I mentioned that our family LOVES the Seeds Family Worship CDs - a fun, upbeat way to memorize scripture! Well, they've just come out with a new album - Seeds of Character! So to bless my readers for sticking with me through the good, bad, exciting, and boring... I'm offering a copy to one of you!

Here's how you can win - leave me a comment telling me any one of these things - which of my blog posts has been your favorite, OR what you think I could or should do to improve my blog (politely, please! I know I don't really have to say that! But just in case!) Or both, if you so choose!

And... (drum roll please!) A Full Heart now has it's own Facebook Page! TaDaaaa!! So, for an extra entry, go ahead and "like" my page! (To make it easy on me, please mention that you did so in your comment!)

The giveaway will close on Friday, May 20, and I'll announce the winner on Saturday the 21st! That gives you a week to enter! Have fun!!

Want to Play?

I've started an online baby pool for friends, family, and blog readers to take a gander at when #6 will make his or her appearance! My official due date is January 29 - will this one come early, like all the rest? Or throw things off a little and take his or her sweet time? What about gender - are we in for boy #6, or will we need to do some shopping for pink things?

The pool also has a place to enter a guess at weight, length, and even time of birth! Please feel free to join in the fun... and I'll have a little gift for whoever gets the closest!

Just for some background, here are my babies' stats (although, I admit I don't remember anyone's length, sorry!)
  • #1 - 8 days early, 7 pounds, 6 ounces, born at 5:56 pm,
  • #2 - 12 days early, 6 pounds, 10 ounces, born at 10:48 am
  • #3 - 3 or 4 days early, 8 pounds, 3 ounce, born at 5:50 pm
  • #4 - also 3 or 4 days early, 7 pounds, 7 ounces, born at 9:56 am
  • #5 - 10 days early, 7 pounds even, born at 9:55 pm
And, of course... they've all been BOYS! ;-)

So, what do you think? Click on the banner above or in my sidebar to place your vote, and feel free to leave a comment here, too!

Once baby comes, I'll enter in the information and the Baby Pool will automatically generate whose guess is the closest - I'll post the winner here after the birth announcement!

Thanks for playing!!

Drum Roll Please... and a GIVEAWAY!!

Guess what?!

I am...

Barefoot!
(please ignore the Chaco tan lines, I wear them everywhere, yes, even to church)

and....

(this is where the drumroll comes in!)

Robinson Baby #6 will be joining us January of 2011!

To celebrate this announcement, I am hosting a giveaway! I actually was blessed to win a wonderful lullaby CD from Elise at A Path Made Straight, and I enjoy it so much that I want to give one to one of my readers! "Hidden in my Heart: A Lullaby Journey through Scripture" is a beautiful compilation of soothing, peaceful music, and, the best part is, the lyrics are pure scripture! What a delightful way to not only soothe the mind with tender music, but also be soothed in the soul, too, by meditating on God's Word!

To enter to win a copy of this CD, please leave a comment, with a guess - tell me, will this baby be a girl? Or boy #6? (We'll be thrilled to pieces with either, of course!). You can include name suggestions, too, if you have any (just for fun - its OK if you decline)! For an extra entry, you can blog about it on your blog! Entering will be closed on the evening of Monday July 12, and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday, July 13!

Thanks for rejoicing with us! We are so thankful for this wonderful gift from above!

Ta-Da! It's Give-Away Time!

After about an hour of child and husband free (no interruptions!) time, I've finally gotten the new template up and running! I hope y'all enjoy the change of scenery! To celebrate, I'm having a give-away!

I posted earlier about the Glory Revealed II album, and how I ordered it after listening to a few samples. Now that I've had it for a few weeks and been able to listen to it many, many times, my opinion of it still holds. Its great! The biggest blessing for me is that the songs are pure scripture - so when listen to them or sing them in my head, I'm reciting the Word and bringing God's faithfulness, glory, and promises to mind again and again.

So I wanted to be able to share the blessing! I'm giving away one CD of either Glory Revealed (the original) or Glory Revealed II - your choice! To enter, please leave a comment telling me which album you'd prefer, as well as your favorite verse of scripture and why it is your favorite! If you post this giveaway on your own blog, you get an extra entry, just let me know you did! The contest will close on Saturday (10/17) at 8 pm and I'll chose the winner through random.org and post it Sunday morning!

More Freebies!

Its a good day for freebies, apparently! Here's a link to get 10 Pregnancy Tests or Ovulation Predictors - totally for free! That's a great deal!

Free Samples for Bloggers

For all of my fellow blogging mamas - here's a free sample offer just for you! Go to Boiron USA and fill out the short form to get your free sample of children's natural immune boosters! Just in time for cold and flu season!

(And no, this is not the give-away I mentioned will be happening soon! You'll know for sure when that happens ;-) )

Description from the Vision Forum website:
At every level of government, our rights as citizens and parents are ignored and usurped by power-hungry politicians. Our news media, universities, and entertainers actively wage war against God’s Word and those who live by it. And our children are confronted daily by the lies of evolution and the horrific realities of its “survival of the fittest” ideology.

In an effort to provide encouragement, hope, and practical instruction to Christian families, Vision Forum is pleased to release five new DVDs. These timely presentations will equip your family to understand our culture’s most critical battles and biblically fight for the rights granted to us by God, rights recognized and preserved for us by our Founding Fathers.
