How long were your labors?
#1 - 16 hours
#2 - 9 hours
#3 - 8 hours
#4 - 5 hours
How did you know you were in labor?
#1 - I had "pre-labor" signs the night before, and woke up in the middle of the night with constant, timeable contractions
#2 - I had no clue, it took me a few hours to figure out that the back pain that was keeping me awake was alot more steady than I thought, and were actually back-labor contractions. I had no warning with this one, especially since he came almost 2 weeks early!
#3 - The same as #1 - pre-labor signs the night before, steady contractions by mid-morning
#4 - The same as #1 and #3 - pre-labor signs, followed by steady contractions
(I like being prepared, so the Lord has been kind to me in the predictability of things, lol!)
Where did you deliver?
All 4 were born at a hospital, but at 3 different hospitals. I keep hinting (not-so-subtly) about a homebirth for this one, but Michael just isn't quite on board.
Drugs?
No
C-section?
No
Who delivered?
The first 3 were with OBs, the fourth with a midwife... I will use a midwife from now on, if possible!

Guess what I just finished posting on my blog?!? Then, I clicked over to read yours...and you did the same thing!!!!!!! How funny!
i got your blog from the labor day meme...and LOVE it! :) i even out a link on my own blog to yours.
anywho...if you are interested in homebirth, perhaps i can help. it looks like you are in Ga. i lived there fir almost 20 years and was a doula/childbirth educator and apprenticing midwife. i know a lot about the birth scene!
i would encourage you to ask hubby to go to a FREE consult with a HB midwife and see what he thinks. there are so many wonderful midwives there and i know you would love one of them.
also, if you must go to a hospital i have a recommendation:
north fulton. margaret (midwife) does waterbirths there.it is no homebirth, but if you have to hospital birth it is pretty good.
well, just thought i could maybe help. being a homebirther myself as well as being to over 250+ births (home and hospital) i love helping moms get the birth they want :)
if you have any questions feel free to email me:

Beautiful births! I will be praying that God will guide hubby toward His Will for your sweet baby's birth! Blessings!
I'm a homebirther, too, but my husband wasn't so sure in the beginning. What helped him was reading the studies on the safety of homebirth. We did our research on the internet, but I have since read the book, The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth, and it has some good information, as does the movie, The Business of Being Born (but be warned, there are real women giving birth in that film, so you might want to preview it, and tell your husband when to look away). Now that we've had three homebirths, my husband is the hugest advocate. He's even more vocal than I am on how wonderful it is to have your baby at home!
Your blog is cool. Thanks for sharing your delivery stories! I am due in less than 4 weeks and have had fun reading all these stories thanks to RIMD. My friends are leaving advice for me on our blog this week if you'd like to stop by and share some words of wisdom! :)
