The first thing the Lord changed in my heart was my view on abortion. He showed me how precious all life is to Him, the creator of all life. I remember the first time I saw my first child in an ultrasound - I was 10 weeks along, and there on the screen was this perfectly formed, kicking and squirming, beautiful human child. My heart was crushed thinking that 10 weeks is often when many early abortions happen... and life is already so perfectly formed and living.
The beauty of creation is amazing, nothing less than a miracle. When people talk about it being a matter of rights, I have to wonder... whose rights are they talking about?
For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.
Psalm 139:13-16
