By Your Side

I'm usually not into the most "popular" music, but since the first time I heard this, it touched me. I would say the biggest area I struggle in with my walk with the Lord is accepting His immense love as a gift from Him, not something I have to strive for. I have to remember:
"We love Him, because He first loved us"
1 John 4:19
What joy and relief that floods my soul, when I think on that verse! I am such a broken, ugly person in my own flesh... and yet He loved me, before I could even think of loving Him. And He continues to love me, although he sees my failures, my lack of faith, my fruitless striving. How immeasurable is His love! I am unspeakably grateful for it.

Why are you striving these days?
Why are you trying to earn grace?
Why are you crying?
Let me lift up your face
Just don't turn away

Why are you looking for love?
Why are you still searching?
As if I'm not enough?
To where will you go child
Tell me where will you run?
To where will you run?

I'll be by your side wherever you fall
In the dead of night whenever you call
Please don't fight these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

Look at these hands at my side
They swallowed the grave on that night
When I drank the world's sin
So I could carry you in
And give you life

Here at my side wherever you fall
In the dead of night whenever you call
Please don't fight these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

And I, I love you
And I want you to know
That I, I'll love you
I'll never let you go

This is a good song. The thoughts contained therein are Scripturally based, though it doesn't use Scriptural language. Very good choice.
